Audio Description for the Visually Impaired

Columbia University graduate student Kai Dawson has created–for the Paper Chase clip–a first pass audio description for the visually impaired.

Start QuickTime video by clicking black triangle, then immediately click audio description under 2 (English) or 3 (Mandarin).

You may recognize the format for this trial audio description: CommentPress. Are you familiar with MediaCommons videos? In Media Res, a goal of which is to “Promote discussion within the media studies community through virtual interactions around contemporary media artifacts.” And how about all the not-so-contemporary media artifacts?
