Distinctive to this project is our commitment to providing moving images explicitly as unedited primary source material, while providing access to detailed curatorial background from the archives: articles, scene-by-scene notes, both item-level and collection-level descriptive records, and integrating this wealth of information with new curriculum materials through easy-to-use interfaces. In the summer of 2008 teachers will participate in formative evaluation of the project, directing our decisions regarding the follow-up project.
Northeast Historic Film is located at the 1916 Alamo Theatre in Bucksport, Maine. Karan Sheldon, NHF co-founder, is project director for Finding and Using Moving Images in Context.
